UCC Barcode Registration
In order for your company to print a U.P.C. Bar Code on a label, there are typcially two ways to go about it and it depends on who is doing the manufacturing of your product.
If you are having someone produce and package your product for you, usually referred to as Private Label Manufacturing, they may be able to supply you with a bar code number that uses their manufacture ID and an assigned product or sku number for your products.
Or, if you are doing the maunfacturing and require your own manufacturer ID, you will need to contact Uniform Council Code, Inc. to obtain your own specific Manufacturer ID number.

Typically, if you are going to have a product that will be sold in a retail environment, a bar code is required.
